About FLight Path
Flight Path Ultimate Camp is a summer training camp for ultimate frisbee players ages 12-15 (Rising 7th through 9th graders) with some ultimate experience and who intend to continue playing organized ultimate.
Flight Path Camp is a limited participant camp with a high number of instructors, ensuring every participant gets direct instruction as well as ensuring that everyone has a high quality experience with personal attention. Although sign-ups are on a week-to-week basis, our curriculum is intended to progress over the course of the summer and campers will benefit from all 6 weeks of camp.
FOrm Work
One foundational skill many forget is how they should be throwing the frisbee. This camp will include feedback given to campers, more than just practicing throws, that will allow them to throw farther, faster, and with more accuracy.
Ultimate
Flight Path camp will, of course, feature plenty of ultimate play in a supportive environment focused on development, fun, and building camaraderie with other ultimate players outside of their school teams. Players will engage in some drills, learn intermediate and advanced techniques, as well as plenty of games and scrimmages.
individual Lessons
Individual or group lessons are offered for those who want an experience specifically tailored to their needs. Axel Olson works with those who have an idea of what they want to get better at but don’t know how to do so. Axel has taught ultimate to youth players before, and he brings many years of experience forward to those who may want a more focused idea of how to get better as an ultimate player. Individual/group lessons have no age limit and can be for any skill level.
Fitness
Another foundational skill comes from running, jumping, and mental endurance. At Flight Path, time will be spent talking about good running and jumping form, safely making athletic plays, and the mental toughness some of these plays may require. No fitness level is expected of the campers, just that they put forth their best effort.
